Why Replaceable Lenses Are a Game Changer
Most cameras (especially 360° ones) are a delicate balance of glass and guts. One scratch on a curved lens can ruin your entire shot and rule you out until you've replaced the camera. One bad fall, you're benched.

How It Works
Replacing a lens might sound technical, but with X5 it’s shockingly simple. Here’s how it works:
You'll need the Replacement Lens Kit for Insta360 X5, which has all the tools you'll need, including your precious replacement lens.
- Prepare a lens cloth and wipe. Place the camera under the cloth.
- Remove the lens ring by lining up the orange marker on the removal tool with the white mark on the lens screen. You'll find them on the bottom of the lens on your X5. You'll feel it slot into place, hold the camera, then loosen the lens by turning it anti-clockwise. Pull out, and the lens ring should come off with the tool. Easy!
- Lift the broken lens off the camera itself with the included pry tool. Check the rubber seal, make sure it’s clean and properly seated to maintain waterproofing. Then use a cleaning wipe, the lens blower, or the lens wipe to ensure no debris is hiding inside.
- Open the new lens case, and use the included suction cup (don't use your fingers!) and place it onto your X5. Now use the original lens removal tool to rotate clockwise with the suction cup included. Once you're happy with how it's seated, carefully remove the suction cup.
- Finally, do a stitching calibration on your X5 (Settings > Stitching Calibration). You'll need to extend your arm out at shoulder level, with one lens facing upwards. This takes about 10 seconds.
