At Insta360, we don't wait for the next camera to make things better: we keep improving the one in your hands. Our best-selling 360 cameras have traveled the world with creators who shoot in every condition imaginable. Now, the Winter Update makes them even more capable with smoother tracking, smarter tools, and new accessories.
These updates come straight from you—the people using Insta360 in the wild—to make your 360 camera sharper, steadier, and simply easier to create with when it matters most. Here's what's new this winter.
InstaFrame 2.0: Smarter Tracking, Smoother Shots
This Insta360 X5 mode just got a serious upgrade. InstaFrame 2.0 brings smoother tracking and a refreshed interface that makes framing fast and intuitive. The new Follow View can now track anyone in frame, not just the person holding the Invisible Selfie Stick. It's perfect for vlogs, ski trips, or scenes where the camera needs to follow the action.

InstaFrame 2.0 can output 4K30fps flat videos with AdaptiveTone, so your footage looks crisp and balanced straight out of the camera, day or night. If you need more flexibility, toggle on 360 Video Backup to simultaneously record a ready-to-share 1080p30fps flat video and a 5.7K30fps 360 video to go back and edit later.
And for creators who like to travel light, InstaFrame 2.0 now has a Virtual Joystick to guide the frame in real-time and Virtual Gimbal for a gimbal-like experience without extra gear. Choose from Pitch Lock, Follow, or FPV modes for steady, natural movement in every shot.

New Gear to Capture the Moment
Good gear should help you create, not get in the way. These new accessories are built to make filming easier, more flexible, and ready for whatever winter throws at you.
Free Framing Selfie Stick
Filming on the move doesn't have to mean juggling gear. The new Free Framing Selfie Stick gives you direct control of your X5 while filming in InstaFrame 2.0, with controls that let you frame, track, and record on the fly.

Switch between vertical and horizontal formats instantly using the Vertical-Horizontal Mount, extend it up to 33cm for creative angles, or set it down with the built-in tripod for steady shots. Compact, versatile, and easy to use, it means you can frame as you film for ready-to-share flat videos, no editing needed.

X5 Photography Grip
The new Photography Grip helps you keep your hands clear of the lenses for ultra-wide, ultra-cinematic 2.35:1 photos straight from your Insta360 X5.

The mechanical shutter button delivers a satisfying click, while the USB-C connection means no charging or pairing to slow you down. With QuickCapture, you can take a photo even while the camera is off, plus, built-in filters and watermarks complete each photo with movie-biz visuals.

X5 ND128 Filters
Bright skies, reflective snow, and blinding glare—winter light can be tough on your footage. But the new ND128 Filters are made for those days. As the strongest filters for X5, they cut harsh light so you can slow your shutter speed and capture smooth, natural motion blur. On the slopes or in bright sun, they keep highlights balanced and details crisp for a clean, cinematic look straight out of the camera.
Everyday Crossbody Bag
If you've ever fumbled through a backpack trying to pull out your camera before the moment's gone, you'll get why this matters. The Everyday Crossbody Bag's clever layout stores any Insta360 X Series cam with the 85cm, 114cm, and Action Invisible Selfie Stick still attached, so you can grab, shoot, and keep moving at a second's notice.

Waterproof fabric keeps it safe from rain and snow, and side openings make access to your gear quick and easy. A bottom strap neatly secures your selfie stick when you're not using it, while extra pockets hold essentials like your phone or keys.
Easier Editing, Better Stories
Once the filming's done, the real fun begins. But let's be honest, no one wants to spend hours scrubbing through footage. Luckily, the latest Insta360 app updates help you turn raw footage into a highlight reel—without hours of work.
New Snow Sports Templates
FlashCut has added a growing library of snow sports-themed templates to bring your edits alive. In a few taps, our smart AI automatically finds your best moments, syncs them to music, and adds transitions that capture the energy of the slopes.
It's faster, smarter, and makes it easy to turn a full day of footage into a highlight reel worth sharing. For anyone who wants to go from shooting to socials in minutes, this update is a game-changer.

Stats Dashboard
The Stats Dashboard gets a smarter, cleaner look this winter. You can now display motion data—like speed, distance, and elevation—as aggregated stats that sum up your entire session. It's a great way to visualize your performance in full and show what your activity felt like, not just what it looked like. Plus, updated layouts make every overlay sharper and easier to read, giving your edits a clean, pro finish.
Ready for Whatever's Next
The 2025 Winter Update is part of our ongoing mission to keep our 360 cameras fresh, fun, and creator-ready. From smarter tracking on X5 to new accessories that fit across the lineup, every improvement comes from real feedback and real-world use.
